The Maharashtra authorities Wednesday withdrew the “basic consent” granted to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), curbing the company’s powers to probe instances within the state. The company will now need to strategy the state authorities for permission to provoke the investigation on a case by case foundation.
This comes a day after the central probe company registered an FIR within the TRP ‘rip-off’ case based on a reference from the Uttar Pradesh Police.
