Dwayne Johnson is planning a reboot of his 2002 film “The Scorpion King”, that launched him in Hollywood.
The 48-year-old star has partnered with Common Footage to develop the reboot and has roped in “Straight Outta Compton” screenwriter Jonathan Herman for penning the script, reported Selection.
“The Scorpion King” was a derivative of Brendan Fraser’s “The Mummy” sequence, which noticed Johnson’s Scorpion King function an antagonist of 2001’s “The Mummy Returns”.
The movie, which was a prequel, informed the story of the desert warrior Mathayus (performed by Johnson). The film earned USD 178.7 million globally and launched Johnson, who was then recognized for his stint in WWE, as a number one man.
The brand new film will likely be produced by Johnson and Dany Garcia’s Seven Bucks Productions. It’s being described as a up to date take and never set within the distant previous like the unique.
